There is no such thing as a free lunch. And the more expensive the lunch you imagine is free, the higher the price you pay. So you can imagine the price you pay by getting a tattoo. The price of permanence is not cheap, by any standard.
At the very least, the price of getting a tattoo will be pain. As of yet, no way has been found to get a tattoo without any pain. You might get some of those temporary ones that wear off in a couple of weeks, but that is a different matter, With tattoos, you get one only after enduring the pain.
Tattoo removal cost however, strikes you in another way. While tattoo removal is now relatively painless with the introduction of lasers and anaesthetics, the price is not the pain. Nowadays, thecost of tattoo removal is with dollars, not any more with pain.
Not that it costs that much, but that it is another expense due to a previously bad decision. You already paid for it with pain the first time around, and now you just have to pay for it. And life is like that. Once you find a way around it, it finds a way around you.
You also pay by having friends who knew you in your pre-tattoo days, your tattooed days, and now in the post-tattoo era. The tattoo now marks your life during the times when you were young, foolish and stupid, respectively.
But that is okay. Without the tattoo today, you can start anew.
